Hadley Memorial Day Parade

The Hadley American Legion Post 271 cordially invites you to participate in this year’s annual Memorial Day parade on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 2:00p.m.

 

Please register your float, vehicle, club, group, troop, business, farm, etc.

Cemetery Ceremony Schedule Sun. May 26, 2024

Olde Hadley American Legion 162 russell street

*Please note: No parking in the Senior Center/Library or Legion parking lots from noon-2pm on 5/26 as this will be used for parade line-up

10:30 a.m. MEET AT LEGION. A bus will transport to first four cemetery ceremonies: legionnaires, firing squad, colors, buglers, to clergy, select board, politicians, town officials, school officials, fire department, police department.

11:00 a.m. Russellville Cemetery 442 river drive

11:15 a.m. Plainville Cemetery 137 mount warner road

11:40 a.m. Old Hadley Cemetery 12 cemetery road

12:05 p.m. Hockanum Cemetery 199 hockanum road

12:15 p.m. MEET AT LEGION. Busses will transport to remaining two cemetery ceremonies: all participants that plan on marching in the Holy Rosary and North Hadley Cemeteries. This includes: Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, legionnaires, firing squad, colors, buglers, to clergy, select board, politicians, town officials, school officials, fire department, police department. The Hopkins Academy Marching Band will board the bus at Hopkins Academy.

12:40 p.m. Holy Rosary Cemetery 134 huntington road

1:10 p.m. North Hadley Cemetery 254 river drive

1:15 p.m. MEET AT LEGION: all ceremony and pedestrian participants that plan on being in the parade please meet at the legion no later than 1:30pm. Parking is very limited. All buses with cemetery ceremony participants will drop off here.

2:00 p.m. PARADE START: flag raising and ceremony followed by Hadley Memorial Day Parade. Parade route from the Legion heads west on Route 9 and turns right up West Street. Parade volunteers and public safety officers will assist. A brief ceremony will be held around the West St. Common to the General Hooker Monument.

appx. 3 p.m. RETURN TO THE LEGION for complimentary refreshments. All are welcome!

1:00 p.m. PARADE VEHICLE LINE UP all vehicle participants that plan on being in the parade will start from the Senior Center/Library parking lot and Middle Street. Please see map for lineup instructions - first come first served for spots within sections. Parade volunteers and public safety officers will assist. Please register your parade entry here.

1:15 p.m. MEET AT LEGION: all ceremony and pedestrian participants that plan on being in the parade please meet at the legion no later than 1:30pm. Parking is limited. All busses with cemetery ceremony participants will drop off here.

appx. 3 p.m. RETURN TO THE LEGION for refreshments. All are welcome!

Parade Spectators, Sun. May 26, 2024 at 2pm

The Hadley Memorial Parade begins with a short ceremony at the Legion and ends at the north end of the Hadley Common with another brief memorial ceremony. Spectators are invited to watch the parade along the route: from the Legion, traveling west down Route 9, through the Center of Town, and on the eastern road on the north side of West Street Common.

Please feel welcome to bring your own chairs and pop up tents. We ask that all attendees please clean up after themselves. Thank you for attending this community event!
